Angler’s Green Rules of Golf (revised in 2018)

HOLE #1

Pump area and Bocce Court (inside fence, or on Bocce Court) is out of Bounds - 1 stroke penalty.

Drop right of court.  OB Stakes located right and behind green.  Drop at point of entry - 1 stroke penalty.

 

HOLE #2

Wet area between #2 and #6 is a hazard area.  If you can’t find your ball - 1 stroke penalty.  Bring the ball out from where the ball is estimated to have landed and drop in the fairway.  If you find your ball, you can play it without penalty at that spot OR if you declare it un-playable - 1 stroke penalty.  Drop in fairway straight out from where the ball landed.

 

HOLE #3

Tee Boxes:               White        Men 69 years old or younger.

 

            Yellow        Men 70 to 79 years old.

 

            Silver        Men 80 to 89 years old.

 

            Red        Ladies

            

        Drop Area next to Silver Tees    Drop area for men 79 years and younger.

 

        Drop Area left of Red Tees           Tee Box for Men & Ladies 90 years up.

                                                         Drop Area for Ladies & 80+ years old men.                                                                                

                                                         Second Drop area for men 79 years old

                                                         & younger - if ball from first drop area 

                                                                           goes into water.

The lake is a water hazard.

Ball goes into water; go to drop area - 1 stroke penalty.  OB Stakes are located to the right of the lake on the right, behind the green and left along the berm - 1 stroke penalty.  Tee shots landing OB right of lake - go to drop zone.  If ball clears the Lake and goes OB, declare a provisional ball and hit from the drop area before going to search for the OB ball.  If OB ball is found, bring ball in laterally 2 club Lengths from OB stakes;  if not found, play Provisional Ball, either way - 1 Stroke penalty.

Ball landing in-bounds on the berm, take ball off berm - no penalty.  The protective fence guarding #4 Tee  allows for a 2 club length relief. 

 

 HOLE #4

The fence protecting #5 Tee deemed in your line of sight - move the ball right or left no closer to the green.  OB Stakes are located on the right and behind the green.

 

HOLE #5

Use AG Local Rule #2 for Concrete waterway and Concrete Drain left of green - even if ball comes to rest in the concrete drains - drop no closer to the green - No Penalty.

 

HOLE #6

Wet area between #6 and #2 is a hazard area.  If you can’t find your ball - 1 stroke penalty.  Bring the ball out from where the ball is estimated to have landed and drop in the fairway.  If you find your ball, you can play it without penalty at that spot but if you                                                                          

declare it un-playable,  drop it in fairway straight out from where the ball landed - 1 stoke penalty.

 

Under or over the fence on right hand side - OB - Drop ball where the ball is estimated to have gone OB -1 stroke penalty.

 

Ball landing along fence, move ball 2 club lengths from fence (per Local AG Rule #2) - no penalty.   Because of the position of the shrubs to the fence, the shrubs are considered as Fence and you are allowed to move the ball 2 club lengths from them - no penalty.

 

HOLE #7

The lake is a water hazard.  Under or over the fence on left hand side and/or behind the green - OB - 1 Stroke penalty.  Drop ball 2 club lengths in from fence where the ball went OB.  If the ball goes over the fence on the right hand side, 1 stroke penalty - drop the ball 2 club lengths from where it went over the fence.

 

Ball  landing along fence - no penalty - allowed to move ball 2 club lengths from fence.

 

The berm crossing the fairway is a playable berm.

 

Tee shot goes into the water - 1 stroke penalty, drop ball where it went in.

 

Next or subsequent shots goes directly in water - 1 stroke penalty - go to first drop area.  If that shot touches the land, the fence, or the cart path AND then goes into the water - 1 stroke penalty.  Bring the ball straight out to level land across from where it went into the water, no closer to the green.

 

 HOLE #7 (CONTINUED)

If the ball hit from the first drop area goes directly into the water, go to the second drop area between #7 green and #8 Tee Box.  If that shot from the first drop area touches the land, the cart path or the fence AND then goes into the water - 1 stroke penalty - bring ball straight out to level land from where it went in, no closer to the green.

 

Note:  if the ball is NOT TOUCHING IN THE WATER but is in the designated water hazard - a FREE DROP is awarded - no closer to the hole.

 

HOLE #8

OB Stakes and Personal Property are deemed OB - 1 stroke penalty.

 

If Tee shot goes into the water - 1 stroke penalty - go to drop zone.

 

If Tee shot goes over the fence protecting the houses and is deemed OB - 1 stroke penalty.  If ball is found, use AG Local Rule #2 and drop it left laterally from where the ball was found.  If ball is not found, thereby deemed OB, go to Drop area and hit another ball.

 

If Tee shot is short of the fence, but dry and in bounds - no penalty - go to the drop area.

 

Men OR Women unable to clear the pond can save a ball by dropping over the pond at the drop area - 1 stroke penalty.  They would be hitting their third (3) shot.

 

Optional:  Ladies (only) 80 years and up can tee up at the yellow tee box - hitting 1.

 

HOLE #9 

Pump area, Bocce Court and flower beds behind green are OB - 1 stroke penalty.

 

The pump area inside the fence is considered a hazard area.  Regardless if your ball is retrievable from this area or not -1 stroke penalty, go to drop area.

 

A ball lying inbounds along the fence - no penalty - drop 2 club lengths from fence.

 

Drop right of Bocce Court.  OB stakes located right and behind green.  Drop at point of entry - 1 stroke penalty.

Angler’s Green Local Rules

 

1)    In leagues where handicaps are used (mens, ladies & couples), all balls must be putted out.

 

2)     2 club lengths allowed from man-made objects and drops from hazards, no closer to the green.

 

3)    If ball is behind or alongside of a tree, play it as it lies.  If declared unplayable - 1 stroke penalty.

 

 4)    You may hit your ball from any hazard at your own risk.  All attempts at hitting the ball must be counted.  Grounding of club in hazard is permitted.

 

 5)    Lift, Clean and Place is allowed.

 

 6)    Casual water/mucky areas in fairways and around the greens - lift and drop no closer to the green.

 

 7)     Side hill lies - lift and take to nearest flat area - no closer to green - no penalty.

 

 8)    DO NOT USE PUTTER HEADS TO REMOVE BALLS from green holes.  Putters with suction fittings are okay to use.  Repair ALL ball marks on greens.

 

 9)    Berms on #3, #4 or #5 are sensitive areas.  NO balls should be played from them.  If not OB, take ball down from berm - no penalty.  If OB - 1 penalty.   DO NOT DRIVE GOLF CARTS on these berms.

 

 10)    Wherever Out of Bounds is marked with white stakes, use eye sight from one stake to another to determine in or out.

 

11)    There is no Teeing up in drop areas.

 

12)    Any league (ex:  Men’s and Ladies) that can generate a score usable for Angler’s Green Handicaps, must play stroke and score, not any point system.

 

13)    All score cards with regular scoring must be dated, signed, verified, and attested for handicap purposes.

 

14)    If there is a dispute and agreement cannot be reached, contact the Ranger on duty and their decision on the matter is final.

 

15)    You are responsible for any damage your golf ball does.

Safety First

 

a)    After finishing #2, put carts and players behind fence on #3 Men’s Tee Box, to avoid being hit from the #2 Tee shots.

 

b)    When finishing #3, be sure to keep the fence between the carts and players on #4 Tee Box to avoid being hit by tee shots from #3 Tee Box.

 

c)    On #5 Tee Box, bring carts and players up behind fence to avoid being hit by tee shots from #4 Tee Box.  Players approaching #4 green need to be courteous of players on #5 Tee Box.

 

d)    Players on #6 Tee Box are to wait until all people teeing off on #2 have finished.

 

e)    When teeing off on #7, wait until #8 green is clear.

 

f)    If on #7 Tee Box, wait until those on #8 Tee Box have finished teeing off, before 

proceeding down the fairway.

 

g)    When finished teeing off on #8, don’t round the corner until those on #7 have finished teeing off.

 

h)    If people are teeing off on #9 Tee Box and you’re finishing up on #1, please be courteous to those on #9.  Keep carts and voices low.

 

i).       When there is play on the course, non-players should refrain from interacting with anybody who is involved in the game.

 

j).      “Etiquette, Courtesy and Consideration” are our guide lines.
